I am just IN LOVE with that fjord... Hurry up and finish him!
And the second one, what model did it used to be? Looks like the ASB's back end with another stablemates front. Oh and off topic but I just LOVE your signature, I followed your blog posts as you were finishing the whole set, it turned out so good!
Thanks Clare! I had so much fun with those race horses and they make me so happy on the shelf in their perpetual race.
You're exactly right- Lilah is the hind end of the G2 ASB with the front end of a G1 Morgan Mare. I got the idea for her and made it, and my friend said I should stick the other pieces together too and see what happened. I did and it's ended up being quite the project- he is even less recognizable.
I don't have any recent pictures of him on my blog, but I'll take one just for you guys...
Meet Liam. He's a Percheron/Paint cross gelding and will be painted dark bay minimal tobiano.
This is the two of them over a year ago when I still called them "Head Up Mare" and "Head Down Mare"
Ooh nice, I really like the idea and want to do this one day with two stablemates, I think Liam is nice but I would make his cheek a bit smaller, then he would be great.
I am taking a 'day off' moderating, so sorry if I haven't got back to you with PMs, I am having a bit of a hard time with stress and everything and I am meant to be working right now but wanted to share these photos quickly, I took a Todd and I am in the process of making him into a fjord pony:
Not too exciting, I am waiting for it to dry and then I can sand it. Then I will have to wait until I return to Spain to paint him.
I started a stablemate custom on the G2 Appaloosa mould yesterday, I had done his chestnut undercoat, and was mixing a dark brown to go on top. I had the brown on the mixing tray, but it wasn't quite dark enough so I dug out some black, I squeezed it but noting came out, so I squeezed harder, and you'll never guess what happened after that the whole tube of black paint exploded all over my white wall, jeeso. My mum wasn't best pleased, but we are reprinting that part of the wall later. Hmmm, customising outside from now on
Heh, that sounds dramatic! Try using the oil paints at my school, they're do badly abused and clogged up and missing lids that when you squeeze some of them it doesn't even come out the top, but squirts from cracks in the side or bottom of the tube diiiisgusting!
