I don't proxy show models either.
I had one of the bright chestnut hunters (an actual Magpie one) a few years back but he had flaxen hair and normally I like flaxen chestnuts but in that case I think the yellowy tones of the hair kind of clashed with the orange. Aside from him I've only seen probably 2 other actual Magpie ones that shade.
Probably? LOL, I can't really tell. The colour there doesn't really look the same but maybe that's just the lighting in the pictures?
Haha!! That little guy was one of the 30 that were leftovers of that colour shell from Dream Pony production. Perhaps if yours had really yellow hair it was pre-haired by Dream Ponies and painted by Magpie? I remember some of the Dream Ponies had crazy yellow hair. I swear I saw a pic recently, I'll see if I can find it.

I ended up with Emma S's orange chestnut Arabian Saz posted up there. She's the same colour as my Emma Kelly orange chestnut Hunter I bought last year. The eye style is the same, too. The Arabian's hair is almost like viscose - very thick, soft, and fine, with a shine. The Hunter's hair is nylon and more orange than flaxen; the Arabian's is almost yellow.
The Arabian *could* be a Dream Pony still as Miss Emma did finishing work for them for a while before buying the company. (working on a series of blog posts about the previous owners. Just trying to chase up a few for contributions)

I recognise that Arab! She used to be mine. It was a Dream Pony not a Magpie, she'd never had detailing added. I painted the hooves, muzzle and eyes on it myself (about 10 years ago). I sold her several years back.
Some Dream Ponies had viscose (I think) hair, some had nylon. I've seen several with both types of hair. (Some Julip Originals also had what I think is viscose hair around the late 80s/very early 90s. I guess they were all experimenting with different types of hair then.)
By coincidence I've just acquired another orange-chestnut Dream Pony hunter but he has flaxen hair (nylon) the same as the flaxen orange-chestnut Magpie hunter I had.
